Povidone-Iodine USP (10%)
Povidone-Iodine is a stable chemical complex of iodine with polyvinylpyrrolidone. It acts as a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant, releasing iodine slowly to eliminate microorganisms on the skin and mucous membranes. Its broad-spectrum efficacy makes it highly suitable for first aid, wound care, surgical preparation, and dermatological infections.
Provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection
Prevents infection in minor wounds, burns, and cuts
Promotes faster healing by reducing microbial load
Can be used in preoperative and postoperative wound care
Helps manage infected skin conditions and ulcers
Non-stinging and non-irritating on application
Safe for repeated daily use
GOVIDO 10% works by releasing free iodine when applied to the skin or wound surface. The iodine then penetrates microbial cells, disrupting their protein and nucleic acid structure, leading to the rapid death of pathogens. Unlike alcohol-based antiseptics, povidone-iodine does not cause a burning sensation and is less likely to irritate the skin, making it a gentle yet powerful choice for both superficial and deeper wounds.
Clean and dry the affected area before application.
Apply a thin layer of GOVIDO 10% ointment directly onto the wound or skin area.
Cover with a sterile bandage or dressing if needed.
Reapply 1 to 3 times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
For external use only. Do not apply inside the mouth, eyes, or nose.
Wash hands after each application (unless treating hands).
GOVIDO 10% is generally well tolerated, but some individuals may experience:
